Gamers for Samaritans

Gamers for Samaritans

Whether you're into console gaming, PC gaming, mobile games or tabletop adventures, choose a challenge that suits your style and skill level.

You could stream for a few hours, complete a difficult in-game challenge, organise a tournament with friends, or work together to hit a shared gaming goal.

It doesn't have to be a 24-hour marathon – the idea is to create a challenge that feels fun, achievable and meaningful to you, while raising vital funds.

Join a community of gamers using their passion to make a real difference.

Swimmers for Samaritans

Whether you prefer the sea, a lake, or your local pool, choose a swimming challenge that pushes you outside your comfort zone.

You could swim a set distance, complete multiple swims over several days, or team up with friends and take on a relay challenge together.

It doesn't have to last 24 hours – the goal is to choose something meaningful that challenges you personally while raising vital funds and awareness for Samaritans.

You can share the details of your challenge when creating your fundraising page.

Crafters For Samaritans

Crafters for Samaritans

Whether you knit, crochet, sew, paint, draw, quilt or create something completely unique, choose a crafting challenge that inspires you.

You could complete a project you've been putting off, craft for a set number of hours, or invite friends to join you for a creative challenge.

It doesn't have to last 24 hours – the goal is to choose something meaningful that encourages creativity, challenges you personally and helps raise vital funds and awareness.

Share your passion, showcase your creations and help support Samaritans while doing something you love.

Shush For Samaritans

This category is all about making the challenge your own. Whether it's a 24-hour gaming session, a sponsored walk, a baking marathon, a digital detox, a reading challenge, a fitness goal, or something completely unique, the choice is yours.

Pick a challenge that inspires you, set your own target, and take it on solo or with friends. It doesn't have to be 24 hours long – what matters is doing something that stretches you while helping raise vital funds and awareness.

FAQs

Can I do my challenge on a different date?

add remove
Yes you can. While Samaritans Awareness Day takes place on Friday, July 24th we understand that not everyone can complete their challenge on that day. If your challenge happens on some other day then that's totally fine!

Does my challenge have to be for a full 24 hours?

add remove
  • Your challenge doesn't have to be 24 hours.
  • If disrupting your routine could negatively impact your mood or wellbeing, we recommend spreading your challenge over a few days.
  • Rather than going solo for a 24-hour marathon, Gamers, Swimmers and Crafters can form a team and take on a group challenge/relay with friends.

Does my fundraising support local Samaritans branches?

add remove
Yes! All funds raised from your challenge support our Branch Development Fund, helping local Samaritans branches across Ireland & Northern Ireland be there for your community.

What's in my registration pack?

How much do I have to raise?

There's no minimum fundraising requirement for the challenge. You can set any fundraising goal you like.
