Set yourself up for success
- Personalise your page: Add a profile picture and explain why you're supporting Samaritans. A personal story builds connection.
- Set a fundraising goal: Aim high, but realistic! Participants who set a target tend to raise more.
- Kickstart by donating to your page: It shows commitment and encourages others to follow.
Spread the word
- Share on social media: Post on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok or Twitter. You can use countdowns, stories, or reels to build momentum.
- Use WhatsApp and DMs: Personal messages can be more likely to get a response.
- Email your contacts: Don’t overlook email. Some supporters prefer it.
Keep momentum going
- Update your page regularly: Post photos, short videos, or progress updates.
- Say thank you often: Tag supporters or message them directly when they donate. You can do it easily from your Samaritans account.
- Remind people: Share again closer to your challenge and during the challenge – it’s OK to post more than once. Some people may have missed your earlier posts or need another nudge.
