I did it! I completed the 24-Hour Crafting Challenge in support of The Samaritans—and thanks to the overwhelming generosity and kindness of family and friends, we raised €567, well beyond my original goal of €200!

The national goal was €24,700… and so far over €58,624 has been raised! That’s a testament to the power of compassion and community.

Throughout the 24 hours, your support, encouraging messages, and donations kept me going when I felt tired or doubted myself. I genuinely felt lifted and held by all of you. THANK YOU for being part of this.

As part of the challenge, I also started knitting bumblebees for BUMBLEance—and I’m now nearly finished. These bees will be donated to help bring smiles and comfort to children facing serious illness, and I’m so honoured to support such a vital cause.

The Samaritans provide an essential, life-saving service to anyone struggling to cope, feeling overwhelmed, or in emotional distress. Their volunteers are there 24/7, offering a non-judgmental, listening ear in people’s darkest moments. Their work matters—deeply.

BUMBLEance, Ireland’s national children’s ambulance service, is nothing short of extraordinary. They provide safe, child-friendly transport for sick children across the country—with fun, love, and dignity at the heart of everything they do.

24 Hours. Two Causes. One Heartfelt Mission.

Why I'm Taking On the 24-Hour Craft Challenge for Samaritans ... & BUMBLEance

On July 25th, I’ll be picking up my needles, yarn, and a whole lot of determination — and I won’t be putting them down for 24 hours.

Yes, I’m doing a 24-hour Craft Marathon! And it’s all for a cause (actually, two causes).

🫶 Why Samaritans?

We all face dark moments. Times when the world feels too heavy, when we feel lost, alone, or simply unheard.
Samaritans are there 24/7 for anyone who needs to talk — offering compassion, a listening ear, and hope. No judgment. No pressure. Just someone who cares.

This charity is close to my heart, and I’m proud to support them through this challenge. Every donation raised will help ensure that no one has to face their worst moments alone.

🧶 Why BUMBLEance?

At the same time, I’ll be knitting comfort items for BUMBLEance — the brilliant children’s ambulance service that brings smiles, support, and specialised transport to seriously ill children across Ireland.

As I craft my way through the 24 hours, each item I make will be donated to BUMBLEance to help bring some joy and comfort to little ones on tough journeys.
