I am delighted—and still slightly amazed—to say that I made it through the full 24 hours of my charity livestream, raising an incredible £1,115 for Samaritans.
When I first decided to take on a 24-hour stream, I knew it would be physically and mentally demanding. What I could not have anticipated was just how much support, kindness and generosity would surround me throughout the entire event.
This was never something I achieved alone.
Throughout the stream, I was joined by a brilliant and varied group of guests who helped make every part of the day feel different.
James Boyle from Samaritans joined me for an important conversation about the charity’s work, what happens when someone reaches out for support, and the value of simply being there to listen.
Curtis Lee from MEA Pride spoke about LGBTQ+ community life and the importance of Pride outside Belfast, while storyteller Adam Ross brought his warmth and talent for turning experiences into memorable stories.
Richie Barlow, founder of The Dog Walker and author of Richie – Who Cares?, joined me for a deeply moving conversation about his life, the trauma he survived and the hope and resilience that allowed him to build the life he has today.
Pastor Noah Hepler, known to many from Queer Eye, spoke about faith, sexuality, religious trauma and creating spaces where LGBTQ+ people can feel valued rather than condemned.
I was also fortunate to be joined by Lauren Dempsey, Paul Taylor Pitt, David McCauley, Calplex, Digicub and Shipwreck, Rob Finn and others who gave their time, shared their stories, played games and helped keep the momentum going.
To every guest who joined me: thank you. You each brought something unique to the stream and helped turn it into far more than a gaming marathon. It became a full day of conversation about mental health, LGBTQ+ life, community, resilience, history and hope.

One of the hardest things about streaming for 24 hours is maintaining the energy to continue, particularly during the quieter and more difficult hours.
The people in chat carried me through them.
Whether you stayed for hours, dropped in briefly, sent a message of encouragement, shared a joke, asked a question or simply kept me company, you helped more than you may realise.
Seeing familiar names return throughout the day reminded me that I was not doing this alone. Even when I was tired, there was always somebody there encouraging me to continue.

Together, we raised £1,115 for Samaritans.
Every donation mattered. Some were large, some were small, but each one represented somebody choosing to support a service that is there for people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives.
I know personally how important it can be to have someone listen without judgement. That is why this fundraiser meant so much to me.
To everyone who donated: thank you for trusting me with your support and for helping Samaritans continue its vital work.
I could not have done it without Marc
The biggest personal thank-you must go to my loving partner, Marc.
My streaming computer is in our bedroom, so for me to broadcast for the full 24 hours, Marc had to give up his bed and his own space for the entire event.
He did so without complaint and was completely supportive from beginning to end.
Throughout the stream, he kept me fed and hydrated, bringing me every meal and making sure I had enough water. While viewers saw me sitting in front of the camera, Marc was working quietly behind the scenes to make sure I could keep going.
He encouraged me when I was tired, looked after me and gave me the practical and emotional support I needed to reach the finish line.
Marc, thank you. I genuinely could not have completed the 24 hours without you.

I was also incredibly grateful for the media support the fundraiser received.
Appearing on Cool FM to talk about the stream was a fantastic opportunity to explain why I was taking on the challenge and why the work of Samaritans matters so much. Thank you to everyone at Cool FM for giving me that platform and helping the fundraiser reach a wider audience.
I would also like to thank Belfast Live, GCN and Scene Magazine for covering and promoting the charity livestream.
For an independent creator, that kind of support makes an enormous difference. Every article, interview and social-media share helped the event reach people who might never otherwise have heard about it.
More than a fundraising total
The final figure of £1,115 is something I am extremely proud of, but the stream was about more than the money raised.
For 24 hours, people came together to talk openly about mental health, trauma, faith, LGBTQ+ history, community, survival and hope. We reminded one another that nobody should have to face their darkest moments alone.
There may have been people watching who were struggling privately. I may never know who they were or what parts of the stream they heard. My hope is that somebody came away feeling a little less isolated, or more willing to reach out for help.
That would make every exhausted hour worthwhile.
To my guests, everyone in chat, everyone who donated, everyone who shared the fundraiser, the media organisations that covered it, the people who helped behind the scenes and, most of all, Marc:

Bloomeroid’s 24-Hour Charity Stream for Samaritans Northern Ireland
Monday 6th JulOn 18th July, I’ll be doing a 24-hour charity livestream in aid of Samaritans Northern Ireland.

This is a cause that means a lot to me personally. I’ve faced difficult periods of mental health in the past, and at a time when I needed support, Samaritans provided comfort, kindness and a listening ear. That kind of support can make a real difference when someone feels completely alone, and I want to give something back.
For 24 hours, I’ll be streaming, chatting, gaming, probably getting increasingly tired, and hopefully raising as much as possible to support the work Samaritans do for people across Northern Ireland.
I’d love friends, followers and supporters to join me during the stream. Drop into chat, say hello, keep me company, share the fundraiser, or just lurk if that’s more your thing. Every bit of support helps.
