Support my 24-Hour Gaeilge Challange for Samaritans!

I'm taking part in The 24-Hour Challenge to support Samaritans, a charity close to my heart that offers a lifeline to people in crisis, 24/7.

On Friday the 24th of July, I will speak Gaeilge for an entire 24 hours! With the help and support of my sponsors. It would mean so much to me if you could donate, share this or even partake yourself to help out the Samaritans!!
Additionally, every day until the 24th of July I will be learning something new as Gaeilge, having a conversation in Irish or reading a book or article in Irish. 


All funds raised here will support Samaritans' lifesaving work in Ireland & Northern Ireland, and their mission of fewer lives lost to suicide.

Progress so far..

Hello everyone!! Over the last few days I have been practising my Irish talking and writing skills for at least an hour everyday, here is how its been going...

On the first day i went through my JC Gaeilge exam papers book and finished any pages i didnt get finished and redid one or two questions I felt I could rewrite better now. I spent 2 hours and 6 minutes doing Irish work this day.

On the second day, I was with one of my friends and we spoke Irish on and off for the entire day, we went to a cafe ag labhairt Gaeilge, at the park and even at work! I even learnt some of my co-workers could speak Irish pretty fluently too, and I also learnt some Russian, Polish, Thai and Ukrainian words from them. It was really fun and I don't think I've ever spoken Irish outside school.

On day 3 I did some vocab, and challenged myself to write a debate as Gaeilge about the Corás Oideachas (education system). It was pretty tricky and I got some phrases and spelling wrong, but I felt I learned alot from it :) The Oráid took a bit more than an hour to write

On day 4, I decided to learn some Kneecap songs off by heart and try to translate them without using a translator, which was alot easier than i thought it would be. It was nice to be able to sing along as Gaeilge. I also did some grammar, which was alot more boring but yknow,, I spent about an hour and a half ag deanamh Gaeilge agus ag canadh!!
