How suicide has affected me

Suicide leaves a mark that never really fades. When it happens in a family, it changes the way you see the world. It’s not just about losing someone you love — it’s the shock, the unanswered questions, and the way everyday life feels different afterwards.

 People don’t always know what to say, and sometimes it feels easier not to talk about it at all. But sitting with someone in their discomfort helps so much.

Anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays carry a weight that never goes away. There’s always a missing piece at the table. Healing means finding ways to carry the loss while still living fully.

Talking about mental health, checking in with friends, and admitting when you’re not okay can feel uncomfortable, but it’s powerful. No one should feel like they have to struggle alone x
