Going Again!

Gamers for Samaritans is Back!

Last year I sat in front of a camera for 24 hours straight, gaming for the Samaritans, and somewhere along the way I made a stupid promise to myself — if I hit my target, I'd listen to Taylor Swift on loop for the entire stream.

I hit the target.

You lot raised over €600 for the Samaritans. And I suffered through "Swifty's for Samaritans" — 24 hours of gaming AND 24 hours of Taylor Swift simultaneously. The chat loved every second of my suffering.

We're doing it again.

17th July — 24 Hours. No Sleep. All for the Samaritans.

On the 17th of July, I'll be going live on twitch.tv/odathi for a full 24-hour charity livestream in aid of the Samaritans Ireland. Every single penny raised goes directly to them — an organisation that keeps phones answered and keeps people here.

Why the Samaritans?

Dundalk has lost its fair share of people young and old over the past few year, familiar faces, people I went to school with, people I'd see around the town. Gone. Not from illness or accidents — from the battle that doesn't always get talked about out loud.

Suicide has touched nearly every family around here in some way. That's not dramatic. That's just the truth of it.

The Samaritans are there at 3am when the darkness gets loud. They don't judge. They just listen. And sometimes that's the difference between someone making it through the night or not.

That matters to me. That's why I do this.

What is Gamers for Samaritans?

Simple. I game for 24 hours straight and raise money for the Samaritans. Last year I hit my goal — which unlocked the cursed bonus: Swifty's for Samaritans. Taylor Swift songs on repeat for the full 24 hours on top of everything else.

The chat loved every second of my suffering. The Samaritans got €600+. Honestly? Worth it.

This year, we're back. Same format. Bigger goal. No promises about what the punishment will be this time.
