The unshed tear

Tuesday 29th Jul Eyes, they say are windows to the soul Honest even in silence Sometimes dark and broody And other times light and full of play Glistening with unshed tears They speak volumes that the lips can’t Just one tear drop trembling at the edge threatening to fall from it’s beautiful, fragile cage The lashes flutter trying to gate it in, while the chin quivers under the weight of the restraint. As if a fence could withstand a gale But emotions are like the wind Howling through cracks that were deemed sealed long ago You try to hold it all in The little rebel tear dancing at the edge. It does not fall It doesn’t need to The soul has already revealed itself Share
