My 24-Hour Challenge
Tuesday 15th JulTo help raise money for Samaritans, I’m going to be taking part in their 24-hour challenge by crafting for a full day on the 25th of July! Throughout the course of the day, I will be crocheting, sewing, latch hooking, making clay magnets, and doing anything else I can think of to pass the time and help clear out my craft supplies. If anyone has any clothes that need mended or if you want anything made for yourself please let me know and I’ll get to it!
This is a cause very close to my heart, and one that I am very happy to be able to give back to, as I have struggled with my mental health for almost a decade and can say with certainty that without the help of organisations like Samaritans during various crises, especially in my teenage years, I would not be here today. The work that they do is invaluable, and by raising money we can help make sure that they can continue providing support for the people who need it so that less people suffer alone.
Poor mental health is a huge problem in Northern Ireland, with one in five adults experiencing some form of mental illness, and over 200 suicides committed every year. With the wait times for NHS mental health services continuing to be a problem, it’s vitally important to have charities like Samaritans who can offer quick access 24/7 support.
